Kanchanabury

Kanchanabury, the 3rd biggest province in Thailand. Located in the west side of Thailan by Myanmar border. It is famous among the tourists as the World War 2nd historical site such as the famous death railroad and the River Kwai Iron bridge as well as the beautiful nature of Erawan Waterfall. It is 120 -130 kilometers to the west from Bangkok.  There are many interesting sites where you can learn and visit.

Among them, The Death Railroad and the River Kwai bridge are the most famous sites to see as they are telling us about the history of the 2nd World War which still can be seen from the buildings of a memorial and two museums to commemorate the dead. The train ride on the River Kwai Bridge is also one of the most interesting things to do. As the train ride go slowly over the iron bridge and the railroad that hang over the cliffs where the Kwai River is below. Visit Kra Sae Cave where the POWs (Prisoners of War) had spent their lives while working on the railroad even lost their lives in the deepest part of the cave. Visit the memorable yard of the great soldiers who sacrificed at that time.  Not only the historical sites that you can visit in Kanchanaburi, but also the nature site such as Erawan waterfall with the clear water in the limestone waterfall for you to climb and see the beautiful nature. Wat Tham Suea with the huge sitting Buddha image in the middle of the field and many more.

These places can be visited from Bangkok if you arrive in Thailand at Suwannaphumi International Airport. With or without the stop overnight in Bangkok, you can start your visit from there and continue the road trip from Bangkok and enjoy the beautiful sites as well as the attractions along the route trip. In the other hand, you can also start from Chiang Mai, the first capital city in the northern region and also the second capital city of Thailand to go on the road trip from Chiang Mai and finish the trip in Bangkok for you to continue to the next destinations as well. Let’s say! If you prefer to visit o Kanchanaburi, you need at least 7 days to cover this route trip plan. However you plan to visit Thailand in the future trip and you prefer to see part of the famous road trip from Bangkok to Chiang Mai or from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, don’t forget to add Kanchanaburi to your trip plan for you to visit both the historical sites and nature site for your pleasant trip.
