They are not the same in term of the area where they located. In Asia like in Thailand, caves are the places where the ancient people kept all treasures in for the new generations to find and preserve. Muang On cave that we are going to tell you the story is one of the local tourist attraction sites in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  30 kms. to the East side of Chiang Mai city area, located in Sankhampang District. There’s a legend tells among the local people that once when the Lord Buddha had travelled in this area and stopped by the cave for rest, meditation and teaching the Buddhism. He found the cave and spent his time there. In the cave, there was a Naga who lived there had disguised himself and offered the Lord Buddha fruits and honey when he spent his time there. When the Lord Buddha was going to leave the cave, the Naga had asked for the Lord Buddha’s hair to place in the cave for him to pay respect. The Naga had placed the Lord Buddha’s hair on the top of the stalagmite as seen in the present.  The local people found the cave again when Kru Ba Sriwichai, the famous monk of Lanna had spent his time meditation in the cave and found the relic of the Lord Buddha so that it has became the place for the people to show respect for the Lord Buddha since then.
